TOURIST INFORMATION

Before arriving at Peru

VISAS FOR TOURISM
Visa is not necessary for citizens of most of the countries of American continent and those of Western Europe. Bolivia, Ecuador and Chile's citizens do not need passport or visa for entering some regions of Peru. In these cases authorized stay term is 90 days (they can be extended by migration officials).

Please consult the Peruvian diplomatic representation in your country to get more information. Pertaining addresses and telephones are included in the Web page of Ministry of Foreign Relations of Peru:

www.rree.gob.pe

ARRIVING TO PERU
Please give the migratory officer the Boarding and Unboarding International Card (supplied to visitor in the plane or in the Customs of the border through which you enter). Keep it as you should give it back in leaving the country. If you lose it you must pay

Customs officers will give you a form to declare taxed goods. Otherwise, please record you have nothing to declare. The following goods are free from tax: personal articles and clothing, laptops and equipment for adventure sports. To further information consult the diplomatic representation in your country.

On the same form you should declare if you are taking with you vegetable or animal species. If the case arises, it is necessary to have authorization issued by salubrity officials in your country. If you do not have pertinent documentation, Peruvian salubrity officials may decide for the vegetable species to be burnt or the animal to be killed.
